National Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is an Australian Government agency working within the Department of Home Affairs. The agency is responsible for coordinating and managing a national-level emergency response to help those affected by natural disasters, including droughts, bushfires and floods. Bite has worked with NEMA over a number of years and was commissioned to design and produce Australia’s National Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.

The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 (Sendai Framework) is a major agreement by members of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and provides member states with concrete actions to protect development gains from the risk of disaster around the world.

As a member of UNDRR, Australia is obligated to provide a midterm review. Bite designed and produced this 68-page publication which included the development of icons and infographics, and selection of appropriate images. The final publication was provided as an accessible PDF file.
