Bite was commissioned to design and construct a website to educate and inform people who are deaf or hearing impaired, on how to respond in an emergency. This groundbreaking website uses Auslan (Australian sign language) as the primary language. Information is conveyed through a number of ‘signed’ videos on emergency situations including: bushfires, flood, storm and heat waves.
We met with VicDeaf on a number of occasions to understand how best to convey this critical information through Auslan, in a way that can be used in all types of emergency situations. Following the initial visual concepts, we proceeded to construct the website using video as the primary communication.
